# Collection pages

The collection template, its filter sidebar and drawer, sorting, the shopper-adjustable grid, and in-place pagination.

The collection template has two sections. A Custom section renders the collection title from a dynamic source and includes a disabled description block. The "Collection product grid" section contains filters, sorting, the grid, and pagination.

## One form, partial page updates

Everything below the title is one form. Filters and sorting submit to the collection URL, and pagination links to the next page. Analog reloads only the Collection product grid section. The grid dims while the new results load. If the shopper has scrolled past the grid, the page returns to the top of it. Shopify admin determines which filters exist. Section settings control how they are shown.

## The toolbar

The toolbar is above the grid and stays sticky under the header on mobile. The left side contains the Filters button and, on desktop, each applied filter with "Clear all". The right side contains the grid toggle, sort select, and product count.

Three settings switch its parts: "Sort by" and "Grid toggle" under "Controls", and "Product count" under "Filters". The count reads "N products", or "N of M products" while filters narrow the set.

## Filters

"Enable filters" turns filters on. The theme hides them when the collection has nothing to filter. Each group uses the presentation selected in Shopify admin: swatches, images, or a checkbox list. Price uses min/max fields.

* "Desktop style" picks "Sidebar" or "Drawer" for desktop; mobile filters always open in a drawer. With the sidebar, "Sidebar open" expands it on page load, and the Filters button toggles it ("Filters" / "Hide filters").
* "Expanded filters" caps how many groups load expanded. A group with an active value always expands.
* "Visible options" caps the values shown per group before a "Show all" toggle.
* "Out of stock" presents availability as a "Checkbox" list or a one-line Show / Hide "Toggle".

Changing a filter applies automatically after a short pause. The drawer adds explicit "Show results" and "Clear all" buttons.

"Filter menu" adds static collection links at the top of the filter list. "Title" names the group and "Collection links" selects its collections.

## Sorting

The sort select lists Shopify's standard collection sort options and applies the choice immediately. Desktop shows the active option name. Mobile shows "Sort". The collection's sort setting in Shopify admin is the default.

## The grid

Set column counts under "Product grid". "Desktop" and "Tablet" accept 2–4 columns. "Mobile" accepts 1 or 2. Enable "Grid toggle" to let shoppers change the count for their device. The selection isn't saved between visits.

"Dense card grid on mobile" removes the mobile page margin, card gaps, and card image rounding. "Products per page" limits each page to 1–50 products (default 24).

## Pagination

Pagination has numbered pages with Previous and Next. It uses the same section reload as the filters. After loading, focus moves to the first new result.

Use an open sidebar and the "Filter menu" for a browse-first catalog page:

* Filters › Enable filters: on

* Filter menu › Title: "Collections"
* Filter menu › Collection links: your top collections

### Clean grid with drawer filters

Use drawer mode to keep the full page width for products:

* Filters › Desktop style: "Drawer"
* Controls › Grid toggle: on
* Product grid › Desktop: 4

### Dense mobile grid

Use two dense columns so mobile images run edge to edge:

* Product grid › Mobile: "2"
* Product grid › Dense card grid on mobile: on
* Product grid › Products per page: 24
